How to Use It

Scoville Scale

Jalapeño Green Paprika can be used as a seasoning for basically everything. Many of our early tasters have been over-the-top excited about the flavor and pleasing heat of Jalapeño powders.

As the summer seasons produce different varieties of hot and sweet peppers from the fields each batch of our Jalapeño Green Paprika will be slightly different. Some batches will be a little hotter and some a little sweeter, but generally the range is from 8,000 to 30,000 SHU due to a mix of the peppers.

A few obvious options for Jalapeño Green Paprika are:

  • sandwiches and salads
  • soups and stews
  • sauces, dressings, and salsas
  • pizza and flat breads
  • dips and cheese spreads
  • roasted vegetables
  • grill and barbecue rubs
  • rice and pasta dishes

Not-so-obvious applications of Jalapeño Green Paprika are:

  • homemade popcorn
  • beverage salt rims
  • morning toast and bagels
  • charcuterie boards
  • sausage seasoning

Why It’s Better

Our Jalapeño Green Paprika is made from the finest whole hot peppers sourced from the farms we partner with. It is ground to a coarse grain to provide a unique, non-dusty texture. If you want to control the fineness of granularity yourself, we suggest trying our whole hot peppers as well.

Spicy Guacamole

Spicy Guacamole

Finish a bowl of guacamole with a light dusting of SweetSoil Jalapeño Green Paprika just before serving. It adds another layer of green pepper flavor and gentle heat without having to chop or handle fresh peppers.

Try this: Sprinkle a little directly onto individual avocado toast or tortilla chips before adding a spoonful of guacamole.

Jalapeño Cream Cheese

Jalapeño Cream Cheese

Add a light shake of SweetSoil Fresh Ground Jalapeño Green Paprika to a serving of cream cheese and stir until evenly distributed. Give it a few minutes to hydrate and develop its flavor, then use it as a quick spread for bread, crackers, or vegetables.

Try this: Stir in some SweetSoil Dried Thyme for an easy jalapeño-and-thyme combination.
