Seasonal Thyme

SweetSoil Seasonal Thyme is dried and packed carefully to preserve the whole leaf for your every use.

SweetSoil Seasonal Thyme is locally sourced thyme harvested at its best, dried in small batches, and preserved so its flavor can be enjoyed well beyond the growing season.

How to Use It

Thyme is one of those herbs that belongs in almost every kitchen. It has an earthy, savory flavor with subtle floral notes that works especially well with vegetables, meats, soups, sauces, and slow-cooked dishes.

A few obvious options for Seasonal Thyme are:

  • roasted chicken and turkey
  • pork, beef, and lamb
  • potatoes and root vegetables
  • mushrooms
  • soups, chowders, and stews
  • tomato sauces
  • beans and lentils
  • stuffing and savory breads
  • marinades and vinaigrettes
  • eggs and breakfast potatoes

Some not-so-obvious applications are:

  • compound butter
  • homemade crackers
  • roasted nuts
  • popcorn
  • infused olive oil
  • savory shortbread
  • cocktails and simple syrups
  • lemonade and herbal teas

For the strongest aroma, lightly crush the dried leaves between your fingers before adding them to a dish. Thyme also holds up especially well during longer cooking, making it a great choice for soups, braises, roasts, and slow-cooked sauces.

Why It’s Better

Our Seasonal Thyme begins with whole fresh thyme sourced from local farms and certified gardens whenever it is available.

Instead of buying an herb that may have spent months moving through a national or international supply chain, we dry thyme close to where it was grown and in relatively small batches.

That means the finished herb retains more of the aroma and character that makes freshly harvested thyme so useful in the first place.

And because this is a genuinely seasonal product, each harvest can be a little different.

The variety of thyme, growing conditions, time of harvest, and individual farm can all influence its fragrance and flavor. We consider those small differences a feature rather than something to engineer away.

Locally grown when the season allows. Carefully dried so the season lasts longer.
